    Contact Us

If you have any questions about our privacy practices, please contact us at support@C0mmun1cate.com or work with your organization's C0mmun1cate administrator.

  • At C0mmun1cate, we take the privacy and security of our users seriously. To ensure the confidentiality and integrity of your communications, our application employs a multi-layered End-to-End Encryption (E2EE) framework. This ensures that only the intended sender and recipient can access message content—not even the C0mmunicate staff or servers have the ability to decrypt user data.

Key Elements of Our Encryption Approach:

    • End-to-End Encryption (E2EE)
Messag1ng, V01ce calls, and F1le transfers are encrypted on the sender’s device and can only be decrypted on the recipient’s device. This means no third party—including our infrastructure—can access the contents of your communication.

    • Multi-Algorithm Cryptographic Layering
Our encryption scheme combines symmetric and asymmetric cryptography for enhanced protection.

    Security Philosophy

We operate under the principle of Zero Knowledge—we cannot decrypt, read, or access any user messages, and we never store plain-text content. Our encryption infrastructure is designed to make unauthorized access mathematically and computationally infeasible.

    Open Standards & Audits

Our cryptographic implementations are based on widely-accepted and publicly-reviewed algorithms. We support open-source audits and invite third-party security researchers to review our system for transparency and continued improvement.

Data Security at Rest and in Transit

All data is encrypted both at rest and in transit, ensuring a consistent security state across all stored and transmitted data.

    10. Give the impression that it emanates from us, if this is not the case.

    Reporting Violations

Users are encouraged to report violation to these Acceptable Use Policy.  Please report violations to your organization's administrators or contact our support team at support@C0mmun1cate.com.  Reports will be reviewed, and appropriate action will be taken to address any violations.

Changes to the Acceptable Use Policy

We reserve the right to modify this Acceptable Use Policy at any time.  Users will be notified of significant changes, and use of C0mmun1cate constitutes acceptance of the new policy.

  • At C0mmun1cate your privacy is not just important to us—it’s the foundation on how we are built. That’s why we don’t use cookies or tracking technologies that monitor or profile your activity.

No Tracking. No Ads. No Analytics. No Reselling of Metadata.

    We do not use:

    • Third-party tracking cookies

    • Advertising cookies

    • Web beacons

    • Fingerprinting techniques

    • Location tracking

    • Cross-site tracking or behavioral profiling

    No Cookies in the App

The C0mmun1cate mobile and desktop applications do not use cookies or tracking technologies of any kind.

    Third-Party Services

We avoid embedding third-party trackers on our site. If we ever use an external service (e.g., CAPTCHA, Everywhere® payment provider), we will ensure they meet strict privacy standards and will clearly disclose their role.

At C0mmun1cate, your privacy isn’t a feature—it’s the foundation of everything we build. We take a radically minimalist approach to data: we do not collect, store, or sell your metadata. Period.

Encryption Key Management & Trust Policy

This policy outlines how C0mmun1cate manages encryption keys and establishes trust between users to ensure the security, privacy, and authenticity of communications.  Keys are securely generated and stored using advance key management techniques and policies with periodic rotation to maintain security.

    End-to-End Encryption & Key Handling

    • C0mmun1cate uses end-to-end encryption (E2EE) to protect all messages, calls, group video calls and files.

    • Each user’s device generates its own asymmetric key pairs, including long-term identity keys and ephemeral session keys.

    • Private keys never leave the device. We cannot access or decrypt user content — by design.

    Session Establishment & Trust Verification

    • When a user starts a conversation, their device establishes encrypted sessions with other devices.

    • Devices are automatically trusted when verified by the user via cross-signing. This trust model is anchored in self-sovereign identity control.

    • Users are encouraged to verify one another’s cross-signing keys by comparing a trust emoji string.

    Cross-Signing & Device Trust

    • C0mmun1cate uses cross-signing: once a user verifies their own devices, they can add additional devices. This sign in and trust additional devices can be done by comparing and verificationa trust emoji string, shown on both devices.

    • This improves usability while preserving cryptographic assurance across multiple devices.

    Key Forward Secrecy & Rotation

    • C0mmun1cate provides forward secrecy through ephemeral session keys that are periodically rotated.

    • In group chats, keys are rotated after a set number of messages or time, minimizing exposure in case of compromise.

    • Messaging Layer Security (MLS) support is on our roadmap to further enhance group chat security, scalability, and key agility.

    Multi-Device Awareness

    • Each device maintains its own cryptographic identity. All devices linked to an account participate in message decryption unless revoked.

    • Devices must be verified before they can receive encryption keys.

    • If a user resets encryption keys or logs in from a new session, key backup and verification are required before access is restored.

    Secure Backup & Recovery

    • Users may opt in to encrypted backups to allow account recovery.

    • These backups are protected using a secure recovery key known only to the user.

    • C0mmun1cate never stores or sees the secure recovery key — recovery is only possible with user-held credentials.

    Server Trust Model

    • C0mmun1cate’s Servers (including C0mmun1cates's infrastructure) only relay encrypted message payloads.

    • The server cannot decrypt content, even if compromised.

    • Devices perform all encryption and decryption — following the zero-trust server principle.

    Transparency & Auditing

    • All encryption libraries used (Olm, Megolm, MLS when deployed) are open source, peer-reviewed, and updated regularly.

    • C0mmun1cate aligns with the C0MMUN1CATE.com Security Disclosure Policy and welcomes third-party audits of its cryptographic implementations.

We do not collect or retain:

    • Message contents

    • Contact lists

    • Call or message timestamps

    • Conversation participants

    • IP addresses

    • Device identifiers

    • Location data

    • Browsing behavior

    • App usage patterns

Our systems are engineered to function without requiring metadata, ensuring that your communications remain truly private—even from us.

    No Monetization of Your Data

We strictly prohibit the monetization of user data.  Unlike many platforms that derive revenue from tracking and profiling users, our business model exclusively focuses on subscription fees. We provide top-tier security and privacy in exchange for this fee, ensuring our services are directed toward benefiting you, not advertisers. We engage in no alternative revenue streams including advertising or data sales.

    Strict Compliance Policy

Our commitment to your privacy is unconditional with no exceptions or loopholes.  Our policy is clear:

    • We do not share your data with third parties

    • We do not store your data for analytical purposes

    • We do not utilize behavioral data to influence product design

    • We do not maintain logs that could reconstruct your activity

    Privacy as a Core Principle

Our operational integrity is grounded in prioritizing privacy.  Even in the unlikely event of a data breach, your information remains secure because it is never collected or stored. We are dedicated to maintaining your trust by ensuring your private communications remain confidential.

    Absolute Policy Standard

We adhere to a policy of absolutely no selling, no tracking, and no exceptions.  Your privacy is paramount, and we maintain stringent measures to uphold it at all times.

    • Email: security@C0mmun1cate.com or privacy@C0mmun1cate.com

    • Security vulnerability reporting: https://C0mmun1cate.com/security

  • C0mmun1ate is designed with the belief that the best way to protect user data is not to collect it in the first place. We retain only the minimal data necessary to operate the platform securely and reliably. Whenever possible, we give users full control over their data and offer ephemeral, decentralized storage consistent with the principles of end-to-end encryption and data sovereignty.

This Data Retention Policy outlines what data we retain, for how long, and why.

    What We Do Not Retain

We do not retain the following:

    • Message content (messages, files, media) – these are end-to-end encrypted and stored only on the devices of communicating parties or in encrypted form on servers for delivery (if not yet received).

    • Contact lists – we do not upload or store your contacts.

    • Communication metadata – we do not log who you talk to, when, or for how long.

    • Message logs or backups – we do not create or access message archives.

    Data We May Temporarily Retain

To provide reliable and secure communication, we may temporarily retain the following data:

    Data Type Purpose Retention Period

IP address (temporary logs) Abuse prevention, spam defense Up to 30 days

Account creation timestamp Service records, anti-fraud Until account deletion

Server logs (anonymized) Service health, diagnostics Up to 14 days

Push notification tokens Enable mobile notifications Until disabled or removed by user

We do not link IP addresses to user identity beyond operational necessity, and never for marketing or tracking purposes.

    User-Controlled Data Retention

Users and R00M administrators can control how long messages persist within R00MS. C0mmun1cate support:

    • Self-destructing messages (if enabled-feature coming soon)

    • R00M-based retention settings

    • Message redaction by users or admins

    • Encrypted storage of messages, with keys stored only on the user's device

When a user deletes their account, all associated data on our server (e.g., identity keys, profile info, stored media) is permanently erased. This action is irreversible.

    Retention for Legal Compliance

We may be required to retain certain data under applicable laws, such as:

    • Legal hold in the event of a valid court order

    • Fraud or abuse investigations

    • Regulatory obligations (e.g., in jurisdictions requiring minimal service logs)

However, due to our data minimization practices, our ability to comply with such requests is highly limited. We do not retain message content or communication logs and will clearly explain the scope of what we can provide in response to lawful requests (see Law Enforcement Guidelines).

  • C0mmun1cate is built on the C0MMUN1CATE protocol and designed to keep your communication secure, private, and inaccessible to anyone but you and your intended recipient(s). We do not—and technically cannot—access your messages, media, or metadata, and in turn, cannot sell, mine, or monetize your personal data in any way.

    End-to-End Encryption by Design

All private messages and calls on C0mmun1cate are protected with end-to-end encryption using Olm and Megolm (the same protocols used by others such as Element X). Your messages never touch our servers in unencrypted form, and we do not hold the keys.

As a result: We cannot decrypt your communications. We cannot share message content. We cannot access your keys.

    Data We Do Not Have

Due to our privacy architecture, C0mmun1cate does not collect, log, or retain:

    • Message content

    • Calls (voice/video)

    • Contact lists

    • Group membership data

    • Communication metadata (who messaged whom, when, or how often)

    • IP addresses (beyond transient use for abuse protection, if enabled)

    • Device fingerprints or locations

    • Encryption keys or passphrases

    • Backup data (if encrypted backups are enabled by the user, they’re client-encrypted and inaccessible to us)

Data We May Have Access To (If Available)

In rare cases, and only in response to valid legal process, we may provide the following limited account information, but only if we retain it:

    • C0mmun1cate User ID

    • Account creation date/time

    • C0mmun1cate domain or hosting info

    • Last active timestamp (if within our data retention window)

    • Verification that an account exists

    Legal Process Requirements

C0mmun1cate is operated by C0mmun1cate Inc., a Delaware Corporation.

We will only respond to legally valid, properly served requests, such as:

    • Court orders

    • Subpoenas

    • Warrants

All requests must come from a competent authority with jurisdiction. Improper or overly broad requests will be rejected.

    User Notification Policy

It is our policy to notify users of any request for their information unless:

    • We are prohibited by law from doing so (e.g., gag order), or

    • We believe immediate notification would result in serious harm (e.g., an emergency request involving imminent danger)

When legally allowed, we will notify users promptly and share a copy of the request.

    Emergency Disclosure Requests

We evaluate emergency requests on a case-by-case basis. Such requests must involve:

    • Imminent risk of death or serious physical harm

    • Specific user accounts

    • A clear legal basis and authority for the request

Emergency requests must be emailed to: Legal@C0mmun1cate.com
    Subject line: "Emergency Disclosure Request"

    Include:

    • The nature of the emergency

    • Affected user(s)

    • What data is being requested

    • Legal authority for the request

    Third-Party Servers

C0mmun1cate can only respond to requests involving accounts hosted on our servers.
If a user is on a federated third-party server, law enforcement must contact that server’s administrator directly. We cannot assist in such cases.

    Transparency Commitment

Although we do not currently publish recurring Transparency Reports, we are committed to disclosing the existence and volume of legal requests we receive—when legally permitted—and will update this page to reflect any such activity.

    Contact & Legal Process Delivery

All legal correspondence should be sent to:

    • Violations affect multiple R00MS or users

    • Abuse persists after local moderation

    • Legal or safety concerns require intervention

    Reporting Violations

If you observe abuse or harmful behavior in a public R00M on C0mmun1cate:

    • Use in-R00M reporting tools where available

    • Or, email: support@C0mmun1cate.com

      • Include the Public R00M Name, offending C0mmun1cate User ID, timestamp, and a description

      • Attach screenshots if relevant and available

We will assess each report individually and may escalate to R00M moderators, take server-level action, or — where necessary — inform your organization (if your account is managed by one).

    R00M Delisting and Access Controls

C0mmun1cate reserves the right to remove Public R00MS from discovery features or search listings if they:

    • Consistently violate our policies

    • Become sources of abuse or harm

    • Fail to respond to moderation warnings

We may also restrict access to repeat offenders or disable abusive public R00MS hosted on our infrastructure.

    Appeals Process

If you believe a moderation action was taken in error, you may appeal by contacting Moderation@C0mmun1cate.com with:

    • Your C0mmun1cate User ID and R00M name

    • The action taken (e.g., ban, R00M block)

    • A brief explanation

We will review your case fairly and respond within a reasonable timeframe.

We reserve the right to amend this policy at any time to adapt to legal, technological, and social changes.  Users are encouraged to review the policy regularly.
